PALM BEACH, FL — During a mid-morning round of golf on Wednesday, golf course manager Donald Trump was swallowed by a 20-foot-long Burmese python while approaching his ball on the ninth hole of Mar-a-Lago.
Native to Southeast Asia, Burmese pythons have established a significant presence in Florida's subtropical environment, with populations now estimated in the hundreds of thousands. These invasive predators have wreaked havoc on local ecosystems, preying on a variety of native birds, mammals, and reptiles.
Mr. Trump, who served as President of the United States from 2017 to 2021, did not notice as the massive reptile silently approached from behind and quickly coiled around him.
Panic ensued among players and staff as they attempted to free Mr. Trump from the python's powerful grip. Within moments, the former President was fully incapacitated, and the python ingested him in one massive gulp.
The python, appearing sluggish after its colossal meal, was eventually captured and transported to a nearby facility for examination. Medical authorities stated that once Trump has been removed from the snake’s stomach, he is expected to make a full recovery.
